Today, on December 12, 2017, Workshop on IP Enforcement opened at the Office of the National Intellectual Property Center Sakpatenti. The event, organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and Sakpatenti, is attended by officials of the customs and investigation services as well as judges. The workshop is led by specialists from Great Britain, Estonia, Moldova, Georgia, and representatives of WIPO and Sakpatenti.

On November 14, 2017, in the capital of Moldova, Chisinau, the first round of negotiations took place between the parties of Georgia and Moldova to adopt the text of the Agreement on Mutual Recognition and Protection of Geographical Indications between Georgia and the Republic of Moldova.
On November 7, 2017, a meeting on intellectual property protection and cybersecurity issues took place at the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti. Mr. Nikoloz Gogilidze, Sakpatenti Chairman, and Mr. Loran Siniore, Director, Central and Eastern European Software Assets Management and Compliance, Microsoft, participated in the meeting.
On November 3, 2017, the final stage and the awards ceremony of the young inventors’ competition “Leonardo da Vinci” took place at the TBC Bank head office. The event was organized by Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
On October 25-26, 2017, in Bern, Switzerland the second round of negotiations between the Georgian and the Swiss parties on drafting the text of the “Agreement on the mutual recognition and protection of geographical indications, appellations of origin and indications of source between Georgia and the Swiss Confederation” took place.
On October 17-19, 2017, the global alliance of geographical indications - OriGIn General Assembly, took place in Treviso, Italy. The meeting was attended by representatives of Sakpatenti and “OriGIn – Georgia”.
Starting from today (16.10.2017) every interested person will have an opportunity to use Sakpatenti’s Patent Information Service – Preliminary Patent Search. This service covers a patent search in worldwide commercial and public sector patent databases, as well as in non-patent (e.g. scientific) literature databases. The searched documents and reports will assist the inventors to get an overview on the state of the art in their fields of technology, to be able to assess patentability of their inventions prior to drafting a patent application and to better plan further steps, e.g. drafting a patent application and filing it at Sakpatenti.
From October 2 to 11, 2017, Fifty-Seventh Series of Meetings at General Assembly of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) took place in Geneva, Switzerland, which was attended by Sakpatenti delegation, headed by Chairman Mr. Nikoloz Gogilidze.
From September 24 to October 8, 2017, “Science and Innovations Festival 2017” will take place, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, during which the scientific and innovative potential of the country, achievements of Georgian and foreign researchers will be presented.
