Commercialization of Intellectual Property – Workshop at Sakpatenti

On January 12, 2016, Mr. Marius Kuningas, Director of the Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Centre of Estonia, visited Georgia on the invitation of the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia Sakpatenti. Mr. Kuningas participated in the workshop on Intellectual Property Commercialization and Technology Transfer.
During the meeting, held at Sakpatenti Office, Estonian and Georgian officials discussed intellectual property rights protection mechanisms, technology transfer system and intellectual property commercialization at universities. Director of the Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Centre of Estonia Marius Kuningas delivered a presentation on the successful Estonian project Innovation Voucher System. Presentations were delivered by the heads of Shota Rustaveli Scientific Foundation and the Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency. The meeting was attended by representatives of higher educational institutions, government agencies and private companies of Georgia, including Deputy Chairman of Committee of the Sectoral Economy and Economic Policy Mr. Temur Maisuradze.
Within the visit, in order to plan future cooperation and joint projects, the delegation of Estonia will hold bilateral meetings with representatives of Shota Rustaveli Scientific Foundation and the Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency.
