12th Session of the Advisory Committee on Enforcement of the World Intellectual Property Organization

On September 4 to 6, 2017, Sakpatenti participated in the Twelfth Session of the Advisory Committee on Enforcement of the World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva, Switzerland.
At the meeting, institutional arrangements concerning IP enforcement policies and regimes, mechanisms to resolve IP disputes in a balanced, holistic and effective manner, coordination of IP enforcement national and regional levels were discussed. Attention was focused on awareness building activities and campaigns, carried out by the Members States, as a means for building respect for IP among general public.
During the Committee session, the representatives of Sakpatenti delivered a presentation “Building Respect for Intellectual Property and Raising Awareness among Pupils: Education Priority in Georgia”. The presentation dealt with special literature prepared as home reading for elementary grades pupils and special lessons on various IP subject-matters.
In parallel with the session, an exhibition was held at WIPO, where various projects implemented by the Member States for raising awareness among youth were presented. Sakpatenti demonstrated literature for home reading created within the Georgian Primary Education Project: “Compass”, “Umbrella”, “Washing-machine”, “Star Candles” and “Doremius Solasi”.
