Science and Innovations Festival 2017

From September 24 to October 8, 2017, “Science and Innovations Festival 2017” will take place, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, during which the scientific and innovative potential of the country, achievements of Georgian and foreign researchers will be presented.
The festival was opened today, on September 24, in Tbilisi. The event will also be held in the regions of Georgia - in Telavi, Kutaisi, Batumi, Gori, Akhaltsikhe and Senaki. In Tbilisi and the regions a scientific picnic will be offered for pupils, with entertaining lessons about intellectual property. To arouse interest in inventions, various games and interesting activities are planned. Through cognitive and entertaining methods teenagers will receive information on the significance of creation of inventions and innovative products for the progress and development of the country.
At the festival Sakpatenti will arrange a presentation area reflecting the activity of the organization. Here Sakpatenti publications, books and brochures will be exhibited, fairy tales on the IP topic will be distributed, attendants can also see the model of Sakpatenti head office, whereas Sakpatenti representatives will deliver qualified consultations for interested persons.
Together with Sakpatenti, co-participants of “Science and Innovations Festival 2017” are state and private universities of Georgia and foreign countries, scientific-research centres, Georgian National Academy of Sciences, Georgian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, leading Georgian and world museums, publishing houses, libraries, as well as Georgian and foreign representatives of the fields of science and art.
International days of scientists and students, with a large-scale international week of innovations, were held for the first time in 2015. In 2016, the foundation was laid for the significant tradition, which continues in 2017 as well. In the current year Georgia is again hosting the International Science and Innovations Festival, joining the leading countries, which through similar festivals facilitate introducing achievements of researchers to the general public and popularization of innovations.
