Creative Business Cup Georgia – Annual Championship of Georgian Creative Start-ups Took Place

On June 11 and 15, 2017, Sakpatenti participated in the Second Championship of Georgian Creative Start-ups - Creative Business Cup Georgia (CBC) 2017. Mr. Merab Kutsia, Head of Inventions and New Plant Varieties and Animal Breeds Department of Sakpatenti was a member of the jury. For the preliminary assessment of the projects, Sakpatenti also carried out preliminary patent search. In total, 40 applications were filed and in the first round held on June 11th 2017, the jury selected 10 projects, whereas in the final round of the tournament, held on June 15th , three winning teams were revealed. According to the decision of the jury, the award-winning places were distributed as follows:
First award – Wine Tea (Giorgi Bukia, Giorgi Natroshvili)
Second award – Cognitive Toys (Tamaz Arunashvili, Mariam Amashukeli)
Third award – Georgian Spices (Maiko Kavtaradze, David Kavtaradze).
The winners will be handed over monetary awards and the team occupying the first position will travel to Copenhagen to participate in the CBC International Final Tournament.
In addition, for projects of social significance special certificates were awarded to the following participants:
New Type Building Systems Adaptable to the Environment Landscape – Revaz Avalishvili
Wheel Set – Irakli Goderdzishvili; Lasha Lordkipanidze.
Championship of Georgian Creative Start-ups - Creative Business Cup Georgia takes place annually. The event is organized by the non-governmental organization “CBC Georgia”, which looks for and selects innovative start-ups throughout the country. The jury of the Championship includes distinguished persons working in various fields in Georgia. The teams winning the National Championship travel to the International Championship of Creative Start-ups - Creative Business Cup, held annually in November, in Denmark. Creative Business Cup is at the same time a global movement, which cooperates with investors, media, governments and creative entrepreneurs. It is the second year since Sakpatenti is involved in the project in close cooperation with “CBC Georgia”.
