WIPO New Search System MADRID MONITOR was Launched
January 01, 2018
On January 1, 2018, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) launched a new unified search system – MADRID MONITOR, which allows tracking the status of an international application or trademark registration, and provides access to detailed information on all trademarks registered through the Madrid System.
MADRID MONITOR replaced WIPO’s old databases: ROMARIN, Madrid e-Alert and Madrid Realtime Status, as a result of which users are offered a easier and more streamlined tool for searching information on international applications. MADRID MONITOR introduces an opportunity to filter, save and share the search results of search on 900,000 international trademarks. The users can also resort to the service of alerts for updates on trademark status.
To better explain the work with MADRID MONITOR, a video tutorial was prepared for interested persons, which is available on the WIPO website.
It is noteworthy that from 1991, the “Read-Only-Memory of Madrid Active Registry Information”, or ROMARIN, was the official database of the Madrid Registry, in which it was possible to search information on international applications. ROMARIN was last updated in 2004.
The new search system of WIPO - MADRID MONITOR is available at WIPO website: http://www.wipo.int/madrid/monitor/en/ .
