Millennium Innovation Competition 2018

On April 12, 2018, the Millennium Challenge Foundation revealed the winners of the Millennium Innovation Competition. The first place was held by Gymnasium AIA GESS, with the project “Robot Laboratorian”. The authors of the project will visit the NASA’s Space Center to participate in the educational program.
Within the event, the 8th-12th-grade pupils from Batumi, Vani, Khoni, Telavi, Patardzeuli and Tbilisi schools presented to the audience and visitors their innovative projects and inventions.
The team on the third place, with the project “Water Shield”, was awarded by Acting Deputy Chairperson of Sakpatenti Ms. Manana Pruidze a special prize of Sakpatenti - a 300 GEL voucher for each member of the team.
The Millennium Innovation Competition is aimed to promote creation of innovation and new technologies among youth. The event is held since 2014 and already 280 teams and up to 1000 pupils have participated in it. The competition is organized by the Millennium Challenge Foundation, with financial support of the US State Department, in cooperation with Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA) and the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
