April 26 - Powering Change: Women in Innovation and Creativity

Today is the World Intellectual Property Day, by the decision of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the slogan of April 26, 2018 is: “Powering change: Women in innovation and creativity”. This year, the World Intellectual Property Day campaign celebrates the brilliance, ingenuity, curiosity and courage of the women who are driving change in the world and shaping our common future. It is important to reflect on ways to ensure increasing number of women and girls engagement across the globe in innovation and creativity. The current theme of the World Intellectual Property Day presents an opportunity to highlight how the intellectual property system can support innovative and creative women in their quest to bring their amazing ideas to market.

The World Intellectual Property Day - April 26 is celebrated by the WIPO member states since 2000. April 26 is the day when the WIPO Convention came into force in 1970.  The World IP Day offers everyone an opportunity to consider how intellectual property contributes to the progress  of music, arts and technological innovation that helps shape the contemporary world.
