Amendments in the Fees for the Services Related to Patenting, Registration and Deposition of Intellectual Property Subject-Matters

In accordance with Resolution N 328 of the Government of Georgia of June 12, 2018, amendments were made to the fees related to patenting, registration and deposition of intellectual property subject-matters. The Resolution was enacted on the basis of the amendments implemented in the Patent Law of Georgia in 2017, according to which relevant fees were determined for proceedings for issuing a supplementary protection certificate, registration of a supplementary protection certificate, publication and annual renewal of supplementary protection certificate.
Along with this, the amendments provide editorial changes in fees for certain actions, including cancelation of certain fees and, taking into account the deficiencies revealed in practice, specification of some fees.
In addition, fees were differentiated according to the form of filing applications with Sakpatenti – between applications filed on paper and applications filed electronically, and In case of electronic filing of applications, 20% reduction was introduced on the fees, including for issuing relevant titles of protection (patent, certificate).
