International Project “Intellectual Property for Youth and Teachers” (IP4YOUTH&TEACHERS)

On June 19, 2018, within the International Project “Intellectual Property for Youth and Teachers”, “Training on Tutoring and Teaching” delivered training for teachers which was organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti.
The project is intended for the countries wishing to introduce teaching inventiveness and innovation into their educational programs. The project is aimed to lay foundation for teaching intellectual property at schools and universities, which will facilitate raising awareness on the significance of intellectual property and stimulating inventive activities among youth.
Within the project, interested and motivated school teachers from all over the Georgia will be given an opportunity to receive training in IP issues and to familiarize with methods of teaching inventiveness, on the basis of which they will be able to teach pupils.
The training at Sakpatenti, together with the experts invited by WIPO, was led by trainers of Sakpatenti National IP Academy. The participants received information concerning the essence of the project, methods of teaching inventiveness, as well as various intellectual property objects.
At the second stage of the project, the teachers will pass a six-week distance learning general course DL-101, which was translated on Georgian by Sakpatenti and will be available in the Georgian language online at the WIPO Academy platform. During the course, tutoring for teachers will be offered by the accredited trainers of Sakpatenti National IP Academy. After the successful completion of the course, teachers will receive relevant certificates of the WIPO Academy.
After the above-mentioned course, it is planned to develop a Georgian version of the special training program, which will be taught by teachers participating in the project.
