Chacha Festival 2018

On November 3, 2018, on the initiative of the Georgian Chamber of Culture, the “Chacha Festival” was founded and held for the first time in Telavi. The event was co-organized and supported by the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti, together with other organizations.
Companies producing “Chacha” participated in the Festival, which facilitates popularization of the registered Georgian geographical indication “Chacha”. A special corner was arranged with Sakpatenti stands where products protected by geographical indications according to various regions of Georgia were exhibited. For the purpose of raising public awareness, Sakpatenti representatives offered the participants information on the significance of protection of geographical indications, including “Chacha”.
At the end of the Festival, the specially created jury named the best specimens from the chacha distilled by companies as well as peasants. The winners were awarded the gold, silver and bronze medals.
The “Chacha Festival” is held within “Check in Georgia” campaign.
