Cooperation between CLDP and Sakpatenti Continues

On May 15, 2019, a meeting took place between Sakpatenti management and Mr. Peter B.Davidson, General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Commerce, visiting Georgia.
During the meeting, held at Sakpatenti Office, the parties discussed the ongoing and future joint projects implemented within cooperation between the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti and the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP), in particular, the events funded by CLDP, aimed at raising public awareness in the intellectual property field. The Office annually organizes training sessions for judges, journalists, lawyers and students, as well as study visits to the USA for capacity building of Georgian experts and visits of American experts to Georgia, for sharing experience with their Georgian colleagues. In cooperation with CLDP, Sakpatenti annually organizes the conference “Georgia Against Counterfeiting”. Through offering training and consultations services, CLDP is working to improve the legal environment for business in countries in transition. CLDP is implementing a number of projects in Georgia, whereas the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti is one of the active offices in terms of cooperation with CLDP.
