ELSA Summer School 2019

The Summer School on Intellectual Property Law is held in Georgia for already the fourth time. The event is organized by the European Law Students Association Georgia (ELSA Georgia), National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
On July1-5, 2019, 25 students from 10 countries (Austria, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Russian Federation, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Sweden, Switzerland Georgia) from European and Georgian universities will listen to lectures delivered by Sakpatenti top officials and sectoral specialists on mechanisms of legal protection of intellectual property subject-matters and tools of their international registration. On the invitation of Sakpatenti, an expert from World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) will also participate in the study process, who will familiarize the Summer School participants with the international agreements administered by WIPO and international mechanisms and procedures of protection of various IP subject-matters on the basis of the above-mentioned agreements. During the course, the participants of the Summer School on Intellectual Property Law will visit Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA) and the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti, where they will familiarize with the activities of these organizations and will receive detailed information on functioning of the intellectual property system of Georgia.
For already the fourth time, Georgia is successfully joining the 22 countries, where the study course is led by qualified sectoral specialists, who share their experience with students of various countries and facilitate raising their awareness in the intellectual property field.
