Scientific Picnics 2019

Today, on September 17, 2019, within the “Science and Innovations Festival 2019”, a scientific picnic took place in Telavi, in the yard of the Historical Museum. The National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti is one of the participants of the event. As in the previous years, Sakpatenti offered for children entertaining lessons about intellectual property. To arouse interest in inventions, various games and interesting activities were held. Through cognitive and entertaining methods, the teenagers received information on the significance of creation of inventions and innovative products for the progress and development of the country. In addition, during the picnic fairy tales on the intellectual property topic were also distributed.

Together with Sakpatenti, co-participants of the Science and Innovations Festival are state and private universities of Georgia and foreign countries, scientific-research centres and other agencies. In this year, scientific picnics will take place in Kutaisi, Batumi and Zugdidi. 

The international days of scientists and students, with a large-scale international week of innovations, were held for the first time in 2015. From 2016, the foundation was laid for the significant tradition, continuing in 2019 as well. In the current year Georgia is again hosting the International Science and Innovations Festival and thus is joining the leading countries of the world, which by means of organizing similar festivals facilitate introducing to the general public achievements of researchers and popularization of scientific education and innovations.
