“From Idea to Innovation – Intellectual Property for Start-ups”- Training was Held for JET 29 Participants

Today, on February 27, 2020, the necessity of protection of intellectual property was introduced to students gathered at the Knowledge Transfer and Innovation Centre of Tbilisi State University, participating in the pre-acceleration program of the Centre - JET 29. The given program is the first for the Knowledge Transfer and Innovation Centre. It is aimed to increase interest among students and to facilitate innovation activities. In order to enhance the local innovative and technological potential and the start-up ecosystem, 10 start-up teams have been selected. They are passing an advanced training course, which includes the topic of intellectual property as well. Mr. Merab Kutsia, Head of the Department of New Varieties and Breeds of Sakpatenti familiarized the start-uppers with the significance of intellectual property and introduced to them information on the patent system, patent search, courses of Sakpatenti Training Centre and various services offered by Sakpatenti.
Promotion of innovation activities and raising awareness on intellectual property is one of the priority directions of the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti.
