The First Teleworking Session Took Place at Sakpatenti Chamber of Appeals

The Chamber of Appeals operating at the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti continues its functioning in the teleworking mode without interruption.
On April 1, 2020, the first teleworking session was held, during which the board of the Chamber together with the representatives of the appellant company heard an appeal concerning the examination decision on the registration of a trademark.
The terms of filing and hearing an appeal, prescribed by the legislation of Georgia related with the activity of the Chamber of Appeals of Sakpatenti, were not stopped. Accordingly, in the period of the state of emergency, declared in the country, the Chamber continues hearing of disputes through teleworking sessions, within the terms set by the legislation.
The Chamber of Appeals of the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti is the body hearing appeals regarding the decisions taken by Sakpatenti on intellectual property subject-matters, as well as disputes related with criteria of their protection, granting of patents and registration of other industrial property subject-matters.
