Work Quality Control at Sakpatenti will be Fulfilled by Internal Audit

To increase work effectiveness, productivity and efficient allocation of resources, a new control mechanism has been introduced into the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti. As a result of the modifications implemented in the center’s structure, a few days ago the Internal Audit Department has been created and began its functioning. The department will carry out its activity independently and in full compliance with the principles of objectivity and confidentiality.
One of the requirements under the Association Agreement signed between Georgia and the European Union is internal audit unit operation in the public sector. The new structural unit objective is to minimize risks in order to attain the goals and objectives of the Center.
Sakpatenti management was considering to set up a new structural unit since 2019 audit report in which emphasis was placed on the formation, introduction and maintenance of the internal control system. One of the priorities of the Department is monitoring the compliance with the recommendations reflected in the 2019 report of the State Audit Service.
