Georgian inventor received patent on Surf board, which is planned to be exported

National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia – Sakpatenti issues legal protection document on utility model. Its main technical achievement is board safety and convenience on a water surface as well as while transporting and storying.
Utility model patented device author is inventor Givi Kevlishvili. The product is classified as Sports and Entertainment device. It can be used for tournaments as well as for leisure. Offered surfing board is less tiring for consumers, it stands out with high sustainability and may reach high speech.
Utility model patented device contains: housing, which is designed to be folded and deployed, handle for onshore board transportation, foot drive mechanism with pedals, surfer seat, adjustable backrest, sockets for inserting a folding umbrella and soft drinks, and equipped with a means to grip other surfboards for tandem swimming.
“The idea came to me while I was at the Tbilisi Sea. It was my desire to invent the equipment which would enable me to have a rest and surf at the same time, so that sun would not bother me and it would have been easy to carry” – Givi Kevlishvili explained.
The inventor works on construction. After successful testing of the results, the surf board will be ready to be manufactured. The product is envisioned for export purposed and mainly seaside countries are selected as the potential places good to be sold.
Utility model is the minor invention and it has less strict requirement compare to patent. However, utility model rights are identical to patent rights. Utility Model patent validity at the territory of Georgia is 10 years.
