USPTO Delivered Webinar Series to Raise Qualification of Sakpatenti Staff Members

Lawyers and judges of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) shared the USPTO practice on trademark and patent disputes with their Georgian counterparts. The webinars which took place in three series from October 5 to November 3, 2020, were organized within the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the United States Department of Commerce.
The above-mentioned meetings serve to facilitate the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti in advancing the level of examination, approximation the work of the Chamber of Appeals to the international standards and improvement the service quality. During the webinars, Sakpatenti sectoral specialists got familiarized with the essence and types of trade secrets and received information concerning the structure of the USPTO Chamber of Appeals. At the meeting, refusals for trademark registration, stages of hearing patent disputes and their progress in details were also discussed.
Sakpatenti Training Centre actively cooperates with one of the strategic partners of the Centre, CLDP, which works on improvement of legal environment for businesses in countries with transition economy. Sharing experience of the USPTO examiners with Sakpatenti lawyers and examiners became available based on this cooperation.
