Sakpatenti Awarded the Team on the Third Place of the Millennium Innovation Competition

On December 29, 2020, the Millennium Challenge Account - Georgia announced the winning teams of the Millennium Innovation Competition. Sakpatenti awarded the team on the third place – the team from Akhaltsikhe Public School for the project: Mobile Application “GoGeoGo“. The application will assist the foreign tourists visiting Georgia and local residents in obtaining necessary information concerning the use of public transport.
By the decision and funding of Sakpatenti, the members of the team will visit the STEM camp (Haifa TeenTech at the Technion) of one of the leading technological universities of Israel. At the camp, a program is available for the pupils of the graduating classes, which provides them an opportunity to gain theoretical and practical knowledge and to familiarize with the latest technological achievements in the world. The knowledge and experience gained at the science camp will assist the participants in designing new projects and inventions in future, as well as in establishing partnerships with successful scientists and the private sector.
“It should certainly be appreciated to see the examples when young people think purposefully about the existing problems and needs, develop a creative approach and design an innovative product in a creative way”, – Mr. Mindia Davitadze, Sakpatenti Chairman, addressed the pupils participating in the competition.
National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia - Sakpatenti is always actively engaged in the competition, which is organized by the Millennium Challenge Account with the financial support of the United States Embassy and in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia. The competition is aimed to promote implementation of innovative ideas and projects in natural sciences and technologies among youth.
Promotion of innovative activities is one of the priority directions of Sakpatenti, as the office defining the policy in the intellectual property field. Properly developed intellectual property protection system is an additional stimulus for innovators to create a new and valuable product.
