Number of Intellectual Property Trainers has been increased

Sakpatenti Chairman Mr. Mindia Davitadze handed over the certificates of intellectual property trainers to the students of the Master’s Degree of the Law Faculty of Tbilisi State University (TSU). The students participated in the special training program “Training of Trainers in Intellectual Property Law”.
In addition to the 16-hour training course provided by the Training Center of Sakpatenti, participants completed a 4-month specialized program of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Academy on "Intellectual Property for Youth" delivered by IP and education experts, during which participants were acquainted with global trends in teaching intellectual property, educational programs and methodology. The final phase of the program (2 months) included developing a project plan, which comprised of developing a teaching activity scheme. After completing this complex program, graduates are able to teach creativity skills and develop an intellectual property training scheme.
Certificates of intellectual property trainers were handed over to Vakhtang Noghaideli, Tamar Chipashvili, Merab Doborjginidze, Ana Kobakhidze, Mano Giorgadze, Elene Chavleishvili, Sophio Mekanarishvili, Lekso Sabiashvili, Tamar Minjia and Elisabed Shengelia.
“The quality and outcomes of intellectual property teaching are essentially dependent on the qualification of the trainers in this field, which is due to the specificity of this sphere. Trainers require as the knowledge of methodology of intellectual property teaching, as well as, deepening knowledge in intellectual property. That is exactly why Sakpatenti has developed this special project aimed at formation of the pool of trainers”, - noted Mr. Mindia Davitadze, Chairman of the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia.
One of the basic functions of Sakpatenti is to facilitate capacity building of professionals in the intellectual property field. In order to duly fulfill this function, a priority of the Center is integration of intellectual property teaching into the education system, and, accordingly, the formation of the pool of trainers in the intellectual property field. The long-term objective of Sakpatenti is identification of young people interested in the intellectual property field and development of a special platform.
