By the Decision of Sakpatenti, All Outstanding Graduates of DL101GE will take part in WIPO Advanced Course Free of Charge

Outstanding graduates of the fall session of the “General Course on Intellectual Property” (DL101GE) were hosted at Sakpatenti. The joint certificates of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and Sakpatenti were handed over to the participants in solemn ceremony by Mr. Mindia Davitadze, Sakpatenti Chairman, and Ms. Sabine Machl, UN Resident Coordinator in Georgia.
“Out of all the graduates of the fall session you are the students who received the highest scores - more than 90 points - at the final exam. Today we are hosting you as the most outstanding graduates and we expect that the surnames mentioned here will be soon found in the list of patent attorneys, experts of intellectual property field and researchers”, - Mr. Mindia Davitadze, Sakpatenti Chairman, noted during the event.
DL101GE is the first distance learning course which provides an opportunity to study the basics of intellectual property law. This course was translated into the Georgian language by Sakpatenti in accordance with the WIPO Academy General Course on Intellectual Property (DL101), brought in compliance with the legislation of Georgia and made available free of charge to anyone interested in this field. After successful completion of the course, on the basis of the certificate issued by WIPO Academy, it is possible to take part in the advanced courses on intellectual property law.
It became known during the event that on the initiative of Sakpatenti and with the financial support of WIPO, outstanding graduates of the fall session as well as future sessions will take part in WIPO Advanced Course (DL302) free of charge. They will be given an opportunity to receive in-depth knowledge in the areas of trademarks, geographical indications and design.

I hope that the work on promotion of intellectual property rights will continue and will attract even more attention from businesses and all other sectors – everyone who cares about progress and development of Georgia.
