Sakpatenti and GTU will Implement Joint Measures for Promotion Inventive Activities

Sakpatenti and Georgian Technical University (GTU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding, aimed to implement joint educational programswithin the framework of institutional cooperation, directed towards promotion of innovations and technologies in the intellectual property protection field as well as facilitation of professional development of students and training of qualified specialists. The Memorandum was signed by Mr. Mindia Davitadze, Sakpatenti Chairman, and Mr. David Gurgenidze, GTU Rector.
Within the Memorandum, the parties are planning to organize training projects, workshops, thematic seminars, conferences, discussions and trainings. These activities will facilitate raising awareness in the intellectual property field among students and training of highly qualified members of academia in the IP field. In addition, implementation of these programs will assist development of the inventive activities and creation of new technologies.
Sakpatenti has undertaken obligation to ensure professional training of the University staff and to support the process of raising qualification in case of necessity. In its turn, GTU will ensure promotion of the “General Course on Intellectual Property” (DL101) of the World Intellectual Property Organization Academy (WIPO Academy) among its students. The parties also agreed to jointly prepare and publish educational, scientific, practical and auxiliary methodological literature with the aim of raising public awareness.
