Participants of Millennium Innovation Competition 2021 got acquainted with the Procedures of Obtaining a Patent

Webinar “Intellectual Property - from Idea to Innovation” was held for pupils - members of the teams who have passed to the semifinal of the Millennium Innovation Competition 2021. 

Sakpatenti Training Centre organized the meeting, where participants of the Competition were provided with general information on intellectual property, invention, patent and their use. Attention was also focused on Sakpatenti activities and procedures of obtaining a patent. The 90-minute webinar was attended by leaders of 30 teams who have moved to the semifinal, the management of the Millennium Challenge Account – Georgia and members of the evaluation commission of the Competition. It is noteworthy that this year the representative of Sakpatenti is participating for the first time in the commission of the Competition with the status of a member of the jury. 

The Millennium Innovation Competition has been organized since 2014 and Sakpatenti has always been actively involved in the work of this competition. The event is organized with the financial support of the US Embassy and aims to stimulate innovation and development of new technologies among pupils of the upper grades.  To date up to 2000 pupils have participated in the competition. The national competition will declare three winning teams of pupils, who will present their projects in the areas of science, technology and engineering (STEM), such as space and aviation, robotics, mobile technologies and applications, environment protection, health care and nutrition.
