Training “Innovation – Improving Lives”

April 26 is the World Intellectual Property Day, which every year is dedicated to a particular topic. By the decision of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) the topic of the World IP Day in 2017 is innovations, and it is celebrated with the slogan: “Innovation – Improving Lives”.
On occasion of the World Intellectual Property Day, on April 21, 2017, a training “Innovation – Improving Lives” took place at Sakpatenti. The event was attended by participants of the “Young Scientists Club”.
Sakpatenti Chairman Nikoloz Gogilidze introduced to 15-16-year old pupils the role and significance of intellectual property in the modern world. Issues of legal protection of inventions and trademarks were also discussed.
At the end of the training participants were handed over certificates. The meeting aimed to raise public awareness in intellectual property among school children.
The meeting took place in an interactive mode, and as the discussed issues aroused great interest among the young participants, a decision has been take to continue similar meetings on a regular basis.
