ELSA Summer School is being Held for the Sixth Time this Year with the Support of Sakpatenti

During four days from today, students from six countries, including students of the Faculties of Law of the leading Georgian universities will receive exhaustive information on intellectual property system.
The webinar is organized by the Training Centre of the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti and the European Law Students’ Association Georgia (ELSA Georgia). The event was opened by Deputy Chairperson of Sakpatenti Mrs. Nino Chikovani and ELSA Vice President Ms. Ana Koiava.
Sectoral specialists will share knowledge with students on mechanisms of protection of intellectual property subject-matters and enforcement of rights. The topics of the webinar also cover overview of intellectual property legislation, trademarks, geographical indications, designs, inventions, examination procedures and discussion on practical examples. The training course is led by experts of Sakpatenti and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Representatives of the Georgian Copyright Association, the Association of Patent Attorneys and Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA) will also share experience with the students.
The webinar of the ELSA International Summer School “On Intellectual Property Law”, being held this year in the remote mode, is attended by 25 Georgian, Ukrainian, Polish, Romanian, Greek and Azerbaijani students.
ELSA is the association of law students which covers 44 European states on the level of national groups, up to 390 well-known universities throughout Europe, up to 51000 law students and young lawyers. ELSA Summer School in various fields of law is held annually in 32 countries. It is held in Georgia for several years with the support of Sakpatenti in the field of intellectual property. The support of the event is aimed to arouse interest in students of the Faculties of Law in intellectual property field.
