The top courses of the WIPO academy are free for the excellent students of the 7th session of DL101GE

Twelve
Outstanding graduates of the spring session of the General Course on
Intellectual Property (DL101GE) were awarded with certificates. By the
initiative of Sakpatenti, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)
will finance specialized courses for all of the 12 graduates by taking into
consideration their interests.
Ms. Sabine Machl,
UN resident coordinator in Georgia and Mrs. Altaye Tedla, Head of the WIPO
Academy Distance Learning Program attended the ceremonial event conducted in
virtual mode.
Ms. Nino
Chikovani, Deputy Chairperson of the National Intellectual Property Center of
Georgia-Sakpatenti and the event host informed the students during the meeting
that they have an opportunity to choose the particular direction of the
intellectual property field and continue their studies for free. WIPO Academy
offers students courses on trademarks, designs and geographical indications or
copyrights.
There is no
analogue of DL101GE in Georgia today. Through this course, anyone interested in
the field has the opportunity to study the basics of intellectual property.
DL101GE was elaborated in accordance with the WIPO Academy general course on
Intellectual Property. In cooperation with WIPO Academy, learning materials were
translated into Georgian and brought in compliance with the Georgian
legislation.
Georgian Distance
Learning Course on Intellectual Property has been running for 4 years and has
951 graduates. WIPO certified trainers of the Training Center of National
Intellectual Property center of Georgia-Sakpatenti leaded the course.
Registration for the fall session 2021 starts on September 14, learning process
starts on October 14 and the course consisting of 12 modules will last 6 weeks.
