Deputy Chairperson of Sakpatenti Met with her Azerbaijani Counterpart

Deputy Chairperson of the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti Ms. Nino Chikovani held an introductory meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Sanan Tapdigov.

At the meeting, held within the official visit to Baku, Ms. Nino Chikovani stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between Georgia and the Republic of Azerbaijan in the sphere of protection of intellectual property subject-matters and geographical indications.

During the meeting the issue of signing an intergovernmental Agreement on Mutual Recognition of Geographical Indications between Georgia and the Republic of Azerbaijan was considered. The conversation also included discussions about the support of innovations and inventive activities and training programs. The meeting focused on the opportunities of implementing joint regional projects. 

Within the visit to Baku, Ms. Nino Chikovani participated in the Session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Georgia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, at which it was noted that the procedures related to the Agreement “On Mutual Recognition and Protection of Geographical Indications between Georgia and the Republic of Azerbaijan” will be formalized in near future and the official document will be signed.
