The Competition of Young Inventors and Researchers
“Leonardo da Vinci” is an annual competition organized by Shota Rustaveli
National Science Foundation of the Ministry of Education and Science of
Georgia. It is aimed to popularize science among pupils, enhance their interest
in innovations and technology and stimulate the development of their creative
thinking, research and practical skills. On the basis of open competition,
pupils of the 7th-12th grades of Tbilisi public and private schools endowed
with an inventor’s talent are revealed and encouraged.
The driving force of the knowledge-based economy are new technologies and innovations, whereas the system of protection of intellectual property is an important tool for their development. The role of science and technologies in overcoming global challenges became obvious once again during the New Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
