Georgia is a Successful Model of Converging EUIPN Tools and Practice Documents

Technical Workshop on Tools and Practices (TWTP) Developed under the European Union Intellectual Property Network (EUIPN) was held in Kyiv, Ukraine. The event, organized by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), was attended by representatives of the IP Offices of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
Georgia is one of the leading countries in the field of intellectual property and a first non-EU country to introduce the the tools and practices of the European Union applied in the sphere of IPR, which was implemented within the EU-Georgia Intellectual Property Project (EUGIPP), funded by the European Union. Delegation of Sakpatenti delivered the presentation about the EUGIPP components and reported about the progress of the project to the participants of the workshop.
The aim of this activity is to provide for a collaborative platform that promotes and reinforces cooperation with IP Offices outside the European Union (EU) by means of knowledge and experience sharing sessions concerning the tools developed under the European Union Intellectual Property Network (EUIPN) and the benefits brought by these initiatives to the Network. This will facilitate the extension of EUIPN tools among the participating Offices according to their specific interests, providing the knowledge and experience exchange carried out during technical and practical sessions. Furthermore, the Workshop will share information concerning Common Practices in trade marks and designs developed under the EUIPN.
The Workshop provided for the opportunity to exchange views and define future milestones to be achieved together under the EUIPO Strategic Plan 2025 (SP2025). It is addressed to the following middle management profiles: Core-business (trade mark and designs fields) and Information Technology (with knowledge of core businesses processes).
The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) is responsible for administration of EU trademarks and registered designs and registration of trademarks and designs by means of a single application throughout the European Union. The organization works with the intellectual property offices of the EU Member States and international partners, shares experience on trademark and design registration issues and supports harmonizing practices across the European Union and the world.
