Acting Chairperson of Sakpatenti Ms. Manana Pruidze and Deputy Chairperson Ms. Nino Chikovani participated in the 7th Meeting of the EU-Georgia Association Committee in Trade Configuration. 

The meeting, held in the online format, was co-chaired from the Georgian side by Mr. Genadi Arveladze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, and from the EU side by Mr. Ignacio Iruarrizaga Diez, Head of Unit of Europe and Eastern Neighbourhood, Directorate-General for Trade at the European Commission. 

Intellectual property rights including protection of geographical indications was one of the topics discussed at the meeting, along with the development of trade and sustainable development, facilitation of business and customs regulations. Ms. Manana Pruidze presented regulatory and institutional reforms, and delivered report on mutual recognition of GI protection, the EU technical assistance as well as about the 5th Meeting of the EU-Georgia GI Sub-Committee.

The Association Committee on Trade Configuration shall meet annually, at least once a year to address all issues related to Trade and Trade-related Matters defined in the Association Agreement. The meeting lasted for two days, December 9-10, 2021, and was attended by representatives of the government agencies involved in the DCFTA implementation and relevant directorates of the European Commission.
