The senior-year students of the Faculty of Law of the Georgian Technical University (GTU) will get acquainted with the importance of the intellectual property and the corresponding legislation of the field. As of today the students will attend the course “On Intellectual Property” at Sakpatenti. The five-day course is organized by Sakpatenti Training Centre, and it is led by WIPO Academy Sakpatenti tutors. The course will last for one month.
The course will enable future lawyers to deepen knowledge in intellectual property and to learn the main principles of the field. The students will familiarize with mechanisms of protection of exclusive rights deriving from IP subject-matters and forms of their transfer and limitation. Future lawyers at the training will receive comprehensive information from highly qualified Sakpatenti trainers which will enable them to assess the importance of protection of IP subject-matters and to analyze the current legislation. The gained knowledge will allow them to define general directions of the intellectual property system as well as specific objects, scope of their protection and protectability criteria.
The course is implemented within cooperation of the Georgian Technical University and Sakpatenti. Cooperation with educational institutions and offering tailored trainings to address the needs of various target groups facilitates raising interest in the intellectual property field in a wide audience and raising awareness in this direction.
