“IP as Valuable Assets” – Online Course in the Georgian Language was launched on the EUIPO Academy Portal

Within the cooperation of the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia – “Sakpatenti” and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), an online course was developed and launched in Georgian language. It is a first time in the history of EUIPO Academy that non-EU member country language online course is offered at the learning portal of the Academy. The course was developed in the framework of the EU - Georgia Intellectual Property Project (EUGIPP) and is available for public.
The course offers a unique
opportunity for potential IP right holders, SME’s and startups to learn more
about the importance of intellectual property subject-matters, to study when
rights originate, the ways of objects registration, international protection
and execution of the commercialization process.

The Georgian version of the course is
very diverse and user friendly. Its duration is 30 minutes. It covers
theoretical as well as practical sections and textual exercises. The course consists
of 5 videos on various IP objects, it offers answers to questions and
explanations, and in addition includes an exam section. The course aims to help raising awareness of
the target audience in the intellectual property field, increasing intangible
assets by IP rights registration and commercialization, which will have a
positive effect on the economy of the country. The participants will be granted
the EUIPO Certificates after completion of the course and passing minimum score
of 70%.
The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) is responsible for registration of trademarks and designs by means of a single application throughout the European Union. EUIPO shares experience and supports in harmonizing practices the IP offices of the EU Member States and international partners. The EUIPO Academy aims to promote capacity building of professionals of the relevant area and to ensure maximum access to information in the IP field.
