Tailored Training was Delivered by Sakpatenti for Academic Staff of European and Kutaisi Universities

Patent, invention, utility model, copyright and related rights, their inception, protection and operations– these were the topics introduced to the representatives of European and Kutaisi Universities at the training organized by Sakpatenti Training Center. The training activity which was led by tutors of the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia – “Sakpatenti”, was attended by representatives of the Faculties of Law, Business and Medicine of the Universities. 

The training “On Intellectual Property”, was held in hybrid mode. Participants received informed about the importance of a patent, its granting and exclusive rights, the importance of copyright and related rights, ownership of rights, transfer, peculiarities of their management and enforcement of rights. Registration procedures, terms of limitations and exceptions to economic rights of authors were also introduced to the participants. 

The training main objective was to raise awareness of the academic staff of the Universities in the intellectual property. IP is an essential component of their educational and professional activities, and it serves to respect and protect their own as well as others’ intellectual work.
