Mr. John Sandage, Deputy Director General of WIPO Visited Sakpatenti

On June 13, 2017, Mr. John Sandage, Deputy Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), paid a two-day official visit to Georgia. During the visit Mr. Sandage will attend and deliver a welcome address at the International Conference on the Use of intellectual Property (IP) for Economic Growth, organized on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of foundation of National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti (June 14-15, 2017).
Today Mr. John Sandage visited Sakpatenti and held a meeting with Mr. Nikoloz Gogilidze, Chairman of Sakpatenti. At the meeting, which was also attended by Mrs. Sophio Mujiri, Deputy Chairperson of Sakpatenti, and Mr. Merab Kutsia, Head of Department of Inventions and New Plant Varieties and Animal Breeds of Sakpatenti, the parties discussed the ongoing processes at Sakpatenti, the role of WIPO in the development of innovations and technologies in Sakpatenti activities and future plans. Tomorrow Mr. Sandage will meet with Mr. Teimuraz Murgulia, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia.
