The Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IPI) is Hosting the Delegation of Georgia

To get acquainted with the peculiarities of the geographical indications system, a Georgian delegation is visiting Bern on the invitation of IPI, which is a significant member of the geographical indications system of the Swiss Confederation. Mr. Irakli Kasradze, Acting Head of the Legal Department of Sakpatenti, is a member of the delegation.
Within the study visit, which will last till July 4, 2022, representatives of the public and private sectors engaged in the geographical indications system of the Swiss Confederation will share with their Georgian counterparts the experience of introducing the system in the Swiss Confederation. The study program covers meetings with representatives of the Federal Office for Agriculture and the Swiss Accreditation Services (SAS). The visit includes field visits to associations of GI product producers and to enterprises of various well-known products, including cheese “Gruyère”.
IPI is the Intellectual Property Office in the Swiss Confederation, which represents interests of the Swiss Confederation on the international arena and administers all intellectual property subject-matters.
