Sakpatenti Representative is Attending the International Conference “Worldwide Perspectives on Geographical Indications”

The Conference “Worldwide Perspectives on Geographical Indications” is interactive, where countries will share best practices based on most recent researches of geographical indications. The event has brought together up to 150 participants from around the world, including GIs researchers, experts, public authorities, international organizations, producers, non-governmental organizations and other stakeholders.
Within the conference the participants will discuss trending issues related to geographical indications. Amongst it, discussion will be held on the entry into force of the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement for the Protection of Appellations of Origin and their International Registration, based on which the first international system for the registration and protection of geographical indications was established. The event will summarize the last 25 years results, share practical experience, new ideas and perspectives will be presented.
The International Conference “Worldwide Perspectives on Geographical Indications”, which will be closed on July 8, combines both the theoretical and practical parts, alternating plenary and parallel sessions and other activities. On the first day of the conference, the delegation of Georgia delivered to the audience the presentation on the policy of geographical indications in Georgia.
