Mr. Soso Giorgadze is Meeting Representatives of the Government of the USA in Washington

On February 9, within the visit to the USA, Mr. Soso Giorgadze, Chairman of the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia Sakpatenti, held a working meeting in Washington with Mr. Steve Gardner, Chief Counsel for the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) at the U.S. Department of Commerce.
At the bilateral meeting the parties discussed the importance of deepening cooperation of Sakpatenti and CLDP, as well as drafting and implementation of future joint projects directed towards development of the efficient intellectual property system in Georgia.
During the meeting the Chairman of Sakpatenti highlighted the support of CLDP in overcoming challenges existing in the copyright and related rights field and the importance of the activities implemented in order to ensure the legal and institutional strengthening of the collective management sphere. For carrying out the above-mentioned work, Sakpatenti Chairman expressed gratitude to the CLDP Chief Counsel, who ensures management of CLDP programs worldwide.
Established in 1992, the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) is the technical assistance arm of the U.S. Department of
Commerce. It provides technical assistance in the commercial law sphere to the governments and private sectors of transitional countries in support of their economic development goals.
