The WIPO Global Awards Annual Competition is Receiving Applications until March 31

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has opened the 2023 edition of its Global Awards competition. The competition is seeking enterprises and individuals, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) of inventors, creators and designers that make smart use of intellectual property to achieve their business goals and harness their innovation and creativity for the progress and good of society.
The competition is free of charge and it is open to SMEs from around the world and from all industries that have up to 300 employees and total annual sales of up to 15 million USD. The application period runs until March 31, 2023. An independent international jury made up of high-level personalities renowned for their achievements, competence and experience will select the competition nominees and winners. 20 nominees will be shortlisted in May of the current year and promoted on WIPO media outlets.
7 winners will be announced in June 2023. They will be invited to attend the WIPO Global Awards Ceremony and other networking events at WIPO’s headquarters in Geneva (Switzerland). The winners will participate in a personalized mentorship program to scale-up IP commercialization and business growth. In addition to international promotion and recognition, they will also gain support to facilitate access to funding and business partnership opportunities.
The Global Awards held its first competition in 2022. It is based on the mission of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) to facilitate innovation and creativity for the benefit of all. The competition is held in order to encourage commercialization of intellectual property assets and to form a global inclusive ecosystem of innovations – the event will make possible to realize effectively the large-scale and creative aspirations of entrepreneurs. The Global Awards competition will celebrate the merits of inventors, creators and designers making smart use of IP – to achieve the set goals, generate incomes, create new jobs, solve local and global problems by promoting innovation, creative industries, investments and business.
