May 03, 2023
The IP case-law compilation of European court decisions was presented at the High School of Justice. The compilation was published in the Georgian language within the EU-Georgia Intellectual Property Project (EUGIPP). The work has been compiled on the basis of the decisions of the General Court of the European Union (GCEU), the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) and the Boards of Appeal (BOA) of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
The publication of the compilation was preceded by working meetings on decisions of the European courts in the field of intellectual property protection. During the events held within the EUGIPP Project, Georgian and European judges discussed high-profile cases in the direction of intellectual property in Europe. The practice and experience of European counterparts were shared by judges from the Supreme Court of Georgia, Tbilisi Court of Appeals and Tbilisi City Court, as well as Kutaisi City Court.
At the event, held on May 3 at the High School of Justice, Mr. Soso Giorgadze, Sakpatenti Chairman, handed over as presents 50 copies of the compilation to the School management and judges. Along with the Chairman of Sakpatenti, the event was also attended by Mr. Sandris Laganovskis, Director of the Institutional and Cooperation Service, EUIPO, Mr. Ignacio de Medrano, Head of the International Cooperation Service, EUIPO, Mr. Martin Marianov, EUGIPP Project Leader, as well as representatives of Sakpatenti and the High School of Justice and judges of the General Court.
