A Unique Mini Model of Georgian Products was Created for Sakpatenti
May 27, 2024
A specimen of decorative and applied art – a miniature model of products of geographical indications and appellations of origin – was added to the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia – “Sakpatenti”. The mini model shows the mini versions of products of all, in total, 64 appellations registered at Sakpatenti. See the list: https://www.sakpatenti.gov.ge/ka/state_registry/
The author of the unique miniatures is Ms. Ketevan Mumladze, artist in polymer clay, who turned into miniatures 29 wines, qvevri, 13 cheeses, 8 mineral waters, 3 honeys, other products and items and created works of polymer clay. In addition to clay, wood and epoxide are also used in the composition. The size of some miniatures is only a few millimeters.
The miniature work of decorative-applied art was placed at the exhibition hall of Sakpatenti Head Office in Mtskheta, where it was displayed together with other permanent exhibits.
As is known, the institution of protection of products of geographical indications and appellations of origin, such as: “Borjomi”, “Khvanchkara”, “Tushetian Guda”, “Sulguni” and others has existed in Georgia for many years, however, even at present part of the society remains unaware of the important role and benefits of these special products for the economic, social and cultural development of the country. It is noteworthy that the mini versions of 64 unique products presented in the model demonstrate clearly the importance of the Georgian geographical indications and appellations of origin.
It should be noted that the model of the geographical indications was exhibited for the first time at “Tbilisi Marriott”, at the closing event of the joint project of Sakpatenti and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), which was greatly enjoyed by the visitors.
