Pupils from the “Green School” Visited Sakpatenti

Pupils from the “Green School” visited the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia – “Sakpatenti”. The visit of the teenagers was implemented within an off-site cognitive event.

The pupils were hosted by Mr. Soso Giorgadze, Chairman of Sakpatenti. The meeting took place in an interactive format. Mr. Soso Giorgadze spoke with the youth about intellectual property, the role of education in personal development and its necessity.

The pupils got acquainted with the basics of intellectual property, as well as the activity of Sakpatenti and listened to presentations on the essence of trademarks, patents and geographical indications. The Chairman of Sakpatenti shared with the pupils knowledge and experience in the field of intellectual property, on the basis of modern, practical examples. 

Such events facilitate dissemination of information on the protection of registered unique Georgian products, intellectual property popularization, in general, kindling of interest among the youth in subject-matters of IP protection and formation of public opinion about their importance, as well as demonstration of Sakpatenti activity in this field and raising of awareness about the office in the public. 

The teenagers of the “Green School” visited Sakpatenti together with their class teacher Ms. Irina Gagoshidze. At the end of the meeting, they looked round the exhibition space of the office and received souvenirs, including children’s fairy tales about IP subject-matters and comics printed in Sakpatenti polygraphy: “Copyright”, “Patents” and “Trademarks”.
