Sakpatenti Participated in the Diplomatic Conference Organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)

Ms. Darejan Mchedlidze, Head of the Department of Trademarks, Geographical Indications and Design, Sakpatenti, participated in the Diplomatic Conference to Conclude and Adopt a Design Law Treaty, held in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The event was organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
It is noteworthy that design determines the market value of a product and ensures competitive advantage, urges consumers to make a choice, which frequently is due to the product attractiveness.
Along with Georgia, the member states of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) participated in the process of final-stage discussion, drafting and adoption of the Treaty, and in the process of harmonizing the Regulations of the Treaty. The aim of the Treaty is to streamline the procedures and formalities for design applications. By simplifying international registration, designers will be given an opportunity to protect their work under more accessible and predictable conditions in home markets as well as overseas
