Chairman of Sakpatenti Met with Mr. Vladimir Marić, Director of the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia

Mr. Soso Giorgadze, Director General of the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia – “Sakpatenti”, met with Mr. Vladimir Marić, Director of the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia. During the meeting, which was held in online format, the parties discussed deepening of bilateral cooperation.

The issue of signing the Bilateral Agreement “On Mutual Recognition and Protection of Geographical Indications” was highlighted. In addition, it was decided that by renewal of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed in 2015 deepening of cooperation, the range of mutual cooperation in the intellectual property field will be further expanded.

It is noteworthy that Sakpatenti has Bilateral Agreements on Mutual Recognition and Protection of Appellations of Origin and Geographical Indications with the European Union, the Swiss Confederation, the United Kingdom, Ukraine and Moldova.  

Together with the heads of the Offices, the meeting was attended on the part of Sakpatenti by Ms. Darejan Mchedlidze, Head, Department of Trademarks, Geographical Indications and Design, Ms. Salome Tsimakuridze, Head of the Administration Department, Ms. Nino Jincharadze, Acting Head, International Relations and Protocol Division, and Ms. Lali Amiranashvili, Head, Intellectual Property Teaching and Training Center, and on the part of the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia – by Ms. Daniela Zlatić Šutić, Assistant Director, Mr. Marko Ilijic, Adviser at the Group for International Cooperation, and Ms. Milica Adamović, Head, Group for Industrial Designs and Geographical Indications of Origin
