Participation of Children from Dzegvi Rehabilitation Center in Sakpatenti Vintage has Become Traditional
October 10, 2025
The
vintage took place in the vineyard planted on the territory of Sakpatenti head
office in Mtskheta, in which Mr. Soso Giorgadze, Chairman of Sakpatenti, together
with the staff members, participated in the grape picking process. The children
from the Dzegvi Rehabilitation Center functioning at St. Giorgi Mtatsmindeli
Monastery, their parents, and Ms. Nana Gogochuri, Head of the Center, engaged
actively in the vintage. Father James, Priest of St. Philip Orthodox Church of Philadelphia, visiting
the Dzegvi Center every year on a friendly mission, also took part in the
harvest. The beneficiaries of the Center have
participated in the vine celebration held at Sakpatenti for the second time, visited the exhibition area and made
churchkhelas with their own hands.
At
the end of the event, the children received souvenirs. The visit to Sakpatenti
will help them to learn more about intellectual property, deepen their
knowledge in this direction, in order to get acquainted in future with the
basics of this field and, optionally, acquire professional skills.
At
Sakpatenti, care and cultivation of the vineyard and grape harvesting is already
a tradition. For winegrowers the vintage is the final stage of work activity. Sakpatenti
staff members have harvested grapes and together with their guests successfully held the vintage event. Both the hosts
and the guests, holding bunches of grapes, wished each other a good harvest and
tasted the ripe, sweet fruit.
Grapes
of Rkatsiteli, Khikhvi, Kisi, Shavkapito and other 29 varieties grow in
Sakpatenti vineyard.
