National Intellectual Property Strategy

On September 15-16, a Sub-Regional Conference on Intellectual Property Strategies will be held at Courtyard Marriott hotel, organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in cooperation with the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia Sakpatenti.
During the Conference, the national IP strategy draft, developed for Georgia with the support of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) will be considered. The significance of the efficient implementation of the drafted strategy for the development of the country will be discussed.
At the Conference the attention will be focused on the significance of the effective management and exploitation of intellectual property by universities and public research organizations and the role of the government in encouraging the commercialization of university research. The issue of creation of competitive and innovative market positions will also be discussed. Participants of the Conference will be familiarized with the intellectual property strategy directions in Georgia – current developments and priorities, and will share international practice and experience.
The Conference will be attended by the heads of intellectual property offices of various countries, international and local experts engaged in drafting the strategy, representatives of state agencies, private sector and higher educational institutions.
