A New Master’s Programme of the WIPO has been Introduced at the University of Budapest
April 17, 2026
Within the strategic cooperation between the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office (HIPO), a new international English-language Master’s programme has been introduced at Corvinus University of Budapest. The programme will start from September 2026. It aims to develop practical skills in IP protection, licensing and commercialization, and to equip the next generation of IP professionals with interdisciplinary expertise in law, economics and business.
It is noteworthy that in Georgia, the Master’s Program “Intellectual Property, Innovation and Entrepreneurship” was launched in 2025 with joint efforts of the WIPO, Kutaisi International University (KIU) and Sakpatenti.
The University welcomed the first cohort of students last year. Upon completion of the one-year English-language Master’s Program, the graduates will be awarded a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Intellectual Property and Innovation Management. The Master’s Program represents a unique educational initiative which has no equivalent in the region.
It is significant that introduction of international Master’s programs in cooperation with WIPO and member state not only facilitates strengthening of the intellectual property protection ecosystem of a given country in educational and professional direction, but also offers the youth an opportunity to improve their professional qualification and occupy a worthy place on the global market.
