Sakpatenti Hosted Students of the Faculty of Power Engineering of the Georgian Technical University

Students of the Bachelor’s Program “Engineering Management” of the Faculty of Power Engineering, Georgian Technical University, visited Sakpatenti head office within a study visit. At Sakpatenti, the students got acquainted with the current works in the field of trademarks, geographical indications and design, as well as inventions and new varieties and breeds.

The visit was aimed to familiarize students, in a professional setting, with the legal framework of protection of intellectual property subject-matters and workflows.  Such practice facilitates deepening of theoretical knowledge and development of a comprehensive understanding on the functioning of the intellectual property system. In addition, the students learned how intellectual property protection supports commercialization of technological innovations. 

 This activity was carried out based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Sakpatenti and GTU in 2021. Within the Memorandum, the parties have been successfully implementing joint educational and practical initiatives over the years.

Raising awareness on the intellectual property field among the youth is a priority for Sakpatenti, as is facilitating their involvement in professional educational programs, internships and practical activities.
