One of the chapters of the Free Trade Agreement between the countries is fully devoted to cooperation in the intellectual property field, which will significantly facilitate the development of effective mechanisms for the protection of rights and approximation to international standards.
On the part of Sakpatenti, Ms. Anuki Oboladze, Head of the Legal Department, participated in the round of negotiations and also met with the representatives of the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia. During the meeting, the parties discussed bilateral cooperation in the field of intellectual property. They considered the possibilities of deepening relations and the main aspects envisaged in the round of negotiations, which are aimed at the improvement and development of the IP system.
A joint statement on the launch of the negotiations was signed by Ms. Mariam Kvrivishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, and Ms. Jagoda Lazarević, Minister of Domestic and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Serbia, during an official visit to Belgrade in December last year. The agreement aims to deepen the existing trade and economic relations between the two countries, increase export opportunities and establish a duty-free customs and import regime.
