A Memorandum of Understanding was concluded between the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti and the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia. The document was signed by Mr. Giorgi Badashvili, Head of the Investigation Service, and Mr. Nikoloz Gogilidze, Chairman of Sakpatenti.
The Memorandum is aimed at popularization of intellectual property law and development of activity related with intellectual property rights enforcement. Within the Memorandum, joint trainings and scientific conferences will be held in the field of intellectual property law, projects aimed at the capacity building of investigators and personnel related to IPR enforcement will be planned. In order to identify and prevent facts of infringement of intellectual property rights, the Investigation Service and Sakpatenti will exchange necessary information and implement legal measures prescribed by the law. Business cooperation will also be planned with international and donor organizations.
Professional cooperation between the Investigation Service and the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti will promote intellectual property protection in the country.
